Spatial interaction through structured sound

VCS, Vis Caeca Soni, is Boolmoot's spatial interaction framework for representing position, distance, orientation and environment state through sound.

Aurlink is the first service layer built on top of VCS: maps, guidance, contextual information and mobile navigation for real spaces.

What is VCS?

VCS was born as an accessibility technology for blind and visually impaired users, but its current scope is broader: a native sound-based model for navigating, exploring and understanding three-dimensional environments.

Instead of adding sound as an accessory to a visual interface, VCS treats sound as the primary spatial information channel.

Structured sound

Sound references are designed to transmit position, distance, orientation and state.

Acoustic calibration

The system can adapt navigation cues to perception, context and usage conditions.

Spatial interaction

Users can explore spaces, identify relevant points and follow safe routes.

Real projects and background

Onae, Zoe's Adventure

3D adventure developed with VCS technology, created in collaboration with ONCE-CIDAT and designed to be playable by sighted and visually impaired players.

Piopá

Educational videogame project that used play as a natural interaction layer for children, with public press coverage in Spain.

REMPRENDE Award

VCS received early recognition as an innovative technology project in 2005.

White Paper

The 2026 white paper reframes VCS as a structured sound framework for spatial interaction.
